Journey to Jerusalem

A WordPress site for a local travel agency—helping guests book trips to Israel and Greece

Overview

This project was a marketing website for a local travel agency helping guests plan and book trips to Israel and Greece. They needed a credible, easy-to-update presence to promote tours and convert interest into bookings.

We started with no existing design system and no ready-made content, so the site was shaped from a true greenfield: structure, templates, and publishing workflow were built so the client could manage the site independently after launch. WordPress was the right fit for that ongoing control.

Challenge

Everything had to be created from scratch—visual direction, page structure, and copy support—while keeping the timeline to roughly a month.

Many travel-agency sites are scoped against budgets in the tens of thousands of dollars. This client was not—and “smaller budget” should not mean a weak result. We chose a WordPress-led approach that respected their numbers, still supported credible marketing and steady bookings, and let them manage content themselves. We like doing right by local businesses that are not carrying enterprise marketing spend; part of that is picking a technical path that fits real constraints without cutting corners on what matters.

  • No starter design or content library at kickoff
  • Client needed to update tours, availability, and messaging without developer intervention
  • Site had to support a clear path from inspiration to inquiry and booking

Solution

We led the build and worked with design and content partners to ship a WordPress theme and content model that matched how the agency sells tours. The work emphasized editor-friendly patterns, sensible defaults, and room to grow as itineraries and offers change.

Result

Bookings have stayed strong: tours regularly fill available slots, and the site continues to support a busy calendar.

  • Launched from a blank starting point in a four-week timeline
  • Client can update tours and core marketing pages directly in WordPress
  • Site supports recurring tour inquiries through an always-on contact flow

Ongoing maintenance and support keep the site aligned with changing itineraries, sell-outs, new travel packages, and fresh promotional content as the agency’s offerings evolve. That work also includes keeping security in good shape and keeping WordPress core, plugins, and the theme updated on a sensible cadence.
